Registered as per Central Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies act XXI of 1860 with World Wide Jurisdiction
Despite being a major source of foreign exchange for the Nation, and an active participant in many of the country's commercial ventures, NRIs and PIOs are deprived of many socio-political rights enjoyed by the resident citizens of India. A need for proper representation was, therefore, keenly felt. And thus was born an organisation of the calibre of the Non-Resident Indians Welfare Association (NRIWA), with a firm social commitment, worldwide connections, ample resources, live communication channels and strong contract agreements with various groups and institutions.
NRIWA, registered in India under the Central Literary, Scientific & Charitable Societies Act has international jurisdiction. The Association's main objective is to strengthen the ties of NRIs and PIOs with their roots in India. It strives to make them part and parcel of their motherland, though living and working abroad.
